Services

NotFurProfit provides both static content hosting, as well as hosting of web applications. This currently includes, but is not limited to, projects running under PHP and Python, and also includes background tasks which are not directly web accessible.
We also allow projects under Web Services that do not have any web facing component, although these are subject to certain restrictions, and generally must serve a purpose that benefits the public interest.
All projects running under Web Services are subject to a code & general security audit, and may be subject to varying levels of restriction as deemed necessary to protect the integrity of our infrastructure.
Mail Services
NotFurProfit provides both outbound and inbound mail for most domains we host, including mailboxes for users, and support for mailing from various automated sources.
We’ve been operating Mail Services since 2017, and have built a solid reputation with major mail providers. We experience no bounces or rejections with most outbound mail. Our servers utilize and pass SPF, DKIM and DMARC authentication.
We operate our MXs on at least two providers to protect inbound mail flow during maintenance or outage periods, whether of our own making, or something upstream that we cannot control.
Access to Mail Services is strongly controlled to prevent abuse. Projects or users utilizing Mail Services must be explicit in their requested purpose, and any signs of abuse or unauthorized use will result in immediate discontinuation of access to Mail Services.
Network Services
NotFurProfit currently provides some limited networking related services. These are primarily remote access tunnels which provide inbound and outbound access to our infrastructure in specific regions. Access to this infrastructure is provided only as needed and is strongly controlled to prevent abuse.
Hosted Services
NotFurProfit provides some common services that are not part of our public infrastructure. Usually, these will be out-of-the-box type software with very little custom code or setup involved. Currently, this includes our GitLab instance, and our metrics server running Prometheus/Grafana.
