Network
May 13, 2023 (edited February 20, 2024) | by FrostNotFurProfit utilizes the core network of Kazehana Networks and their partner networks for our services.
Kazehana Networks provides a full dual stack network. All of the services we provide are available via IPv4 and 6, and maintain both A & AAAA DNS records.
Reverse DNS Information
NOTE: We are now utilizing Kazehana Networks IP space. However, some hosts have not yet been merged into the kazehana.io rDNS portfolio, so our rDNS information is preserved below.
- Public Facing Servers – Currently utilizes the hostname.notfurprofit.org format.
- Customer Addresses – Currently utilizes the c-ip.notfurprofit.org format for IPv4, and c-subnet.notfurprofit.org format for IPv6. These addresses are used for traffic from real end users, and should not be unduly restricted.
- As an example, if the relevant IPs are 203.0.113.5 and 2001:db8:114:1166:c0ff::ee, their rDNS records would look like:
- c-203-0-113-5.notfurprofit.org
- c-2001-db8-114-1166.notfurprofit.org — This identifies that the whole /64 is a customer subnet. The subnet will not be used for any other purpose.
- As an example, if the relevant IPs are 203.0.113.5 and 2001:db8:114:1166:c0ff::ee, their rDNS records would look like:
- Datacenter Networking Equipment – Currently utilizes the core.notfurprofit.org subdomain.
- Due to the nature of our network, these only appear in specific traceroutes.
- Internal Machines / Networking Equipment – Typically, these will have a blank public rDNS.
